Each week during the college football season, we'll come here to react to the new TRAM Top 25. TRAM, like most models and systems, gets better and more accurate as the season progresses.
Team | TRAM Score |

Week 7 featured 6 ranked vs ranked matchups (based on the AP poll). The winners of those games jumped considerably in the TRAM Top 25.
- Tennessee jumped from 5 to 1
- TCU jumped from 8 to 3
- Michigan jumped from 9 to 4
- Syracuse jumped from 11 to 9
- Utah jumped from unranked to 12
- Kentucky jumped from unranked to 24
It pays to win. It pays more to beat better teams.
With their last-second victory over AP #3 Alabama, the Volunteers of Tennessee vaulted to #1 in the TRAM Top 25. They aren't just the best team in the country though. The difference between #1 Tennessee and #2 Ohio State is greater than the difference between #2 Ohio State and #7 Georgia. At this point in the season, Tennessee is head and shoulders above the competition.
There are 9 remaining unbeaten teams in the FBS this season. All 9 are featured in the Week 8 TRAM Top 25. The lone Top 10 team with a loss? Alabama at #6. The Crimson Tide haven't finished lower than that since 2007, the first year of Nick Saban's tenure. Will that streak end this year? Only time will tell (but I'm not betting on it).
